Democracy

Majority rule will only work if you're considering individual rights. You can't have five wolves and one sheep vote on what they want to have for supper - Larry Flynt.

Ah, good sir, you seem to assume that the sheep does have a choice.

Ah, but good sir, I do not assume such stand. In fact, I was making fun of it.

each individuals think that they all have a choice, but in the end, not all governments care about a single vote unless others happen to think like this respective person.

With this universal suffrage and all, some people think that the role of the majority is to impose the majority culture into the minorities.

little did they know that democracy protects minorities, each individuals regardless of who they are.

however, that IS only the supposed modern principle of democracy, but it isn't necessarily a reality, right?

You, sir, are very wise indeed. But let us not be so quick to conclude. Excuse my ignorance but pray tell me sir, how democracy is supposed to protect the sheep?

The sheep here, of course, being the minority, has no other choice but to succumb to the greater force of the majority, methinks.

Pardon my weakness sir, I admit that I also do not know the answer to such an epic question.

Even democracy in itself is not the most perfect way of governance- but just the ones widely practised in this world.

For such a difficult question, I can only say that it is very unfortunate for the sheep to be surrounded by the wolves.

A tragic reality it is.

However, none of the majority in the human realm would easily believe the idea that they are the symbolism of "wolf"- oppressor rather than being oppressed- unless they believe in Marxism, of course.

Humankind do think very highly of themselves, that I know.

Reality is an aspect often neglected by idealists, which is the case for most of us young people. Your answer, however, reflects maturity. And for that, I take my hat off to you, sir.

And you too, good sir.
